Website Analysis, your very first step

In your SEO process your first step will be website analysis. I think you have to know the website very well for doing the optimization process properly. Are you surprised???? I know that you are very much familiar with your website. But I will say it again.. Now there are some facts that you have to check

1. Is your HTML code W3C validated?

2. Is your website search engine friendly?

3. What is the average load time of your site?

4. Do you check your site in different browsers?

5. Is your site working properly in various resolution?

I can increase the list if I wish. So don't be surprised. If you have a website and you want to make a good business with that then you must check these factors. I think this as a battle or a football match. At first you have to know your team's strength and weakness. You must know your players' average speed, their skills, their ability etc etc. After knowing all these things you can set a game plan for your upcoming match. We don't know what the result will be but if I have all the data of my team then I can be well prepared for the match. if we consider SEO is a match then we must know our website very well to get the top rank. If we know our weaknesses we can cure it and in the mean time we just focus on our strength. I have already mentioned some topics to check. Now some other things that you have to consider...

1. How many broken links you have? If there is any broken link then remove it or cure it.

2. What is your website's main theme? Little confusing, right? Theme means what does your website do? Which product you want to sell or which type of information you provide. Suppose you are selling gift items through your website. Then your website is a gift portal. But you chose your key word like "cheap chocolate" instead of "gift chocolate". It seems you sell chocolate not gifts. And your keyword should not touch your theme. So if you optimize your site by "cheap
chocolate" then search engine can get the right theme of your website. As a result you probably don't get the right business which you deserved.

3. You must build a well internal link structure in your website so that your pages are binded altogether.

4. What are your main products and what are your advantages as compared to others?

5. Know your popular page which is visited most and focus them properly.

6. Make a good content to convert your traffic into your revenue.

And I think you must know too many things about your website. So to start the optimization read your website properly. Ask him that is there any pain or injury he have? If yes then cure it. Remember, injured leg can not win the race.

Know Your Search Engine

Today I will discuss how the search engine works. Excuse me! Don't laugh at me. I know that you are thinking that who is this person who claims that he knows the search engine technology. I am not claiming that

But I claim myself a SEO professional. So it is important for me to
know a little bit about search engine. Today I am sharing my
understandings only, nothing else. Actually search engine sends its special
attendant to our website called robot( may be spider or may be
crawler). This robot is a very good traveler I think. It roams all the
websites frequently. When it reaches your website then it makes a call
to search engine to say about your website. It gives all the necessary
information about your website to Mr Search Engine. And the big
brother that is our Search Engine keeps all the data to its database
for future use. Now we have a website and we are indexing it in Google.
Oops! You are not familiar with indexing?????
We make a website and host it. Now if we think that the search engine
automatically recognizes it then it is our fault. No search engine can
recognize any website automatically. You must submit this website to
search engine. After submitting it, you must wait for one or two days to see
whether your website is there at search result page. This is known as indexing. Sometimes it is seen that search engine takes some long time to index a website.
Don't worry. Yes don't worry. There is no such fixed time period that
a search engine can take to index a website. As per my experience my
own website www.hire4seo.com has been indexed after 17 days since submission in Google.To see whether your website is indexed or not you just go to google search and type in the search box site:www.domain name.com
and you can get your answer. If your site is indexed then some links will be there, may be one or may be more. If not then search engine tells
you to check the domain and you........ don't get upset.

Now we must get back to our topic. Robot is the technology of the search
engines who inspects all the websites regularly. When its inspection
goes on it collects all the necessary data from your website. This is
important for you. This data is very important to make a good result
in search engine result page. Now it is upto you that how you
organize your pages so that robot must take those data which makes you
topper in search result. This is the SEO. If your site is better
optimized then robot can be very pleased to see you and take as many data
as it can.
Some basic facts to please Mr Robot-
1. Chose your hosting server carefully. Robots don't like to drive slow.
2. Robots don't like traffic jam, so be sure that your server does not go
down frequently.
3. Make your page robot friendly. So that it can roam on your site with
great pleasure and give you good marks.
4. Be careful when using flash. Robot does not feel happy with flash.
5. Avoid making websites with frames. Robot can stop its journey
in your site after seeing it. It has been seen that sites made by frames
generally takes more time to index and gets higher position in search
engines.

In my previous blog I said that a good website is not enough to
create a huge revenue. You have to make a good plan to create traffic.
SEO is one of them. A good seo plan reach you to the top of SERP
(search engine result page). But there are several steps to reach
there. Today I will discuss about the first step. From my point of view,
website analysis is the first step. That means analyzing your website
properly. If you do so, you can know all your weaknesses and strengths
in details. That will help you in on page optimization. Oops!!! I think
you are not familiar about on page optimization. It is not so critical
or like that. If you have optimized your web pages only without any
involvement of outer world then it is called on page optimization. We will
discuss about that later. Now back to our topic, website analysis.
After analyzing your site you can know your optimization rate, keyword
density, details about broken links, HTML validation, anchor text and
many more. So now you have a clear idea about your site and you know
all the details where you have to improve. Now on page optimization is going to be easy for you. And the main thing is we optimized our site cause search
engine's crawler or spider can pick the proper data on which we wanted
to rank. Here data means keywords. Spider or crwaler pick this data to
its own database and after someone search on that keyword probably
your website may be there. Yes I said probably. Cause there is still a long
way to go.

SEO as per my Idea

Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is quite a familiar term to website
owners. If you have a website then SEO is in your daily routine. Not
like that? Or you asking me what is SEO?

Oh! Then I have to give a brief discussion about SEO. I am not a SEO
genius or something like that. I know SEO and I think that is enough
for me. I think nobody can say himself a seo genius. There are many
reasons behind that. SEO is a process. We can predict something and
apply it to our website and wait for our desired result. It
only depends on that search engine on which you are working. So SEO is
a research and you have to do this on regular basis. Ok, I think I am
going to a wrong direction. Our topic was what is seo..... And I think
I am apart from that. Lets jump to the topic.

We, the internet people use search engines on regular basis. To me Google
search is another name of finding something. We open the search
engine home page, type our desired findings and click to search button.
After clicking we all know what happens. After getting the right
thing we say oh! what a technology. Yes, this is a technology, a great
technology who brings the whole world together. But this technology is
not our topic and I think it's quite complex to discuss about. Now, I
am a website owner and I want to get placed at first page of search
engine result page(SERP). Because I know the simple rule that is "more
traffic more revenue". In the crowd of million websites it is a game
to reach on the top. And we know this game as SEO. Yes seo is a process
by which you can get a good ranking by search engine and get a desired
traffic. But what is ranking??? Is there any examination or test going
on? No, not at all. Page rank is a policy of Google by which you can
make an overall impression about that site. How many votes you are getting from other websites and search engines is pagerank. It depends on many
factors like how old your website is, how many website links you have, to
whom you are linked, How is your website content quality, how many
page you have, how fine your web pages are optimized etc etc. And these
are all in SEO.
